One of the world’s most popular game franchises is back with another new title tomorrow and you can jump straight into Call of Duty (COD): Black Ops 6 with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
This year’s COD title features the epic return of round-based Zombies, alongside 16 new multiplayer maps at launch and a captivating campaign storyline.
Via Call of Duty: While the Gulf War commands the global spotlight, a shadowy clandestine force has infiltrated the highest levels of the CIA, branding anyone who resists as traitors. Exiled from their agency and country that once hailed them as heroes, Black Ops veteran Frank Woods and his team find themselves hunted by the military machine that created them.
The Call of Duty franchise is a household name and the return of a long-time classic like round-based Zombies is sure to have lobbies flying off the charts come release day. Interestingly enough, New Zealand has been going viral for being the first country in the world to get access, given the staggered release times which are based on region. Some diehard fans will be changing their system’s location to New Zealand, in order to get access to the game a little earlier than the rest. This certainly isn’t a new phenomenon and Microsoft does frown upon it, but those of us who actually are from New Zealand don’t have to worry about that, and can revel in the fact that we’ll be the first to get going.
Two Zombies maps, Terminus and Liberty Falls, will be available at launch, and build on the Dark Aether storyline from titles before it. A third map has also been promised to players, and will arrive before the end of the year.
Arguably the most popular game mode, multiplayer, will include 12 ‘Core’ maps (6v6), and four brand new ‘Strike Maps’ which can also be enjoyed in a 6v6 format, but will offer 2v2 too. ‘Strike Maps’ cater to those who like the chaos of smaller maps, where action is much easier to come by. Within the selection of maps, regular modes will feature, including staples like Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Gunfight (Gun Game) and more. As well as this, there will be ‘Face Off’ modes where Scorestreaks are disabled, and ‘Hardcore’ modes where players play a range of modes but with higher levels of difficulty.
The good news is that Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will get access from the very start, so if you’re looking to play the game on Xbox or PC, getting the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is almost a no-brainer.
Aside from the guns and glamour of COD, Game Pass Ultimate gives you access to a wide range of over 100 titles including big names like Halo, Forza, Skyrim and more. Games are constantly being added and removed as well, so getting bored of the selection is unlikely. But if the wide range on offer from Xbox really isn’t enough, Game Pass Ultimate gets you instant access to an EA Play membership as well, at no extra cost. The Game Pass Ultimate provides gamers with access to online gaming (which is a must-have if you want to enjoy many games to their full potential) and also cloud gaming. In keeping to their vision where every screen is an Xbox, Microsoft are enabling their users to stream their favourite games across a range of devices including the Xbox app on PC, mobile, handhelds, consoles and more.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 releases tomorrow (25th October), so grab your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and get stuck in!
