The Ninebot F-Series is the latest in Segway’s lineup of electric scooters and it promises functionality, fashion, and fun across three different models: the Ninebot F40, F30, and F20A.
The fun begins when you start whizzing around at up to 30km/hour on the F40, or up to 25km/h on the F30 and F20A. No matter where you’re heading, you can count on a smooth and sturdy ride, with no traffic to hold you up. You get 350W output on the F40, providing plenty of torque to easily conquer slopes of up to 20%. If you prefer taking it slow and easy, you can choose a riding mode to match, such as Eco mode. The F series allows you to choose between three riding options: Eco Mode, Standard Mode, and Sports Mode.
The function and safety of the F series scooters are solid. The scooters are fitted with 10-inch pneumatic tires with superior shock absorption, making your ride smoother and more stable, even on bumpy terrain or rough surfaces. The dual brake system offers some additional stability, as well as better steering to ensure a safe ride. The scooters are equipped with a front-wheel mechanical drum brake and a regenerative electric rear brake. Keeping safety in mind, you’ll also find a 2.5W high-brightness LED light fixed on the front of the scooters to illuminate the path ahead of you and increase your visibility.
Depending on your scooter of choice, you can go quite the distance on a Ninebot F scooter. The Segway Ninebot F40 is equipped with a high capacity battery of 10,200mAh that can take you up to 40km; a 7,650mAh battery in the F30 that can take you up to 30km, and a 5,100mAh battery in the F20A that can take you up to 20km. The difference in battery size is largely reflected in the price points that have an overall difference of $400 between the most affordable option, the F20A, and the higher-end option, the F40.
Whether you opt for the larger battery or not, all F series scooters feature a Smart Battery Management System that delivers a high power supply, while closely monitoring the battery status. This system includes multiple protection mechanisms to ensure battery safety and to notify you of any battery alerts when needed.
When you’re ready to stash your scooter away or fold it down for public transport, the Quick-Fold System makes it easy and takes just one second. The F40 weighs 15.8kg; the F30 weighs 15.1kg, and the F20A weighs 14.5kg, meaning they’re all perfectly lightweight and easy to carry.
Segway is fairly experienced in creating electric scooters so it’s no surprise that their latest line-up offers great functionality, a solid build, and a whole lot of fun at an affordable price. To make your overall riding experience even better, they’ve even gone the extra mile and created an app. The Segway Ninebot app allows you to connect the Ninebot KickScooter F series and check your riding speed, energy usage, and remaining battery.
