The PlayStation 5 arsenal at PB Tech has just expanded with four fresh new options. If you’ve been sitting on the fence or you’re buying a present for someone else, this drop covers a range of options: fully digital, disc-friendly, bundle-ready, and a higher-performance, larger-storage Pro model.
Sony’s Slim refresh keeps the PS5 experience but trims the footprint and weight, which helps if the console needs to fit a smaller TV unit. Storage tiers now cover 825GB for the digital Slim and 1TB for the disc Slim. Meanwhile, the Pro model brings a genuine performance upgrade, alongside 2TB of fast storage.
PS5 Slim Digital Edition (825GB)

If you already buy everything from the PlayStation Store, the Slim Digital Edition is the straightforward pick. It’s slimmer and lighter than the launch-era PS5, with the same next-gen experience in a smaller footprint. There’s no disc drive built in, but you can purchase one separately if you want flexibility later.
Storage: 825GB SSD. Fine if you rotate installs. Big modern games vary widely in size. If you like to keep a sports title, a shooter, and a couple of single-player epics side by side, the drive fills faster than you’d think.
Bundles with EA Sports FC 26
The next three options all come packaged with EA Sports FC 26, so you’re ready to play straight out of the box. No extra purchase needed - just set up and jump into match day.
PS5 Slim Digital Edition (825GB) + EA Sports FC 26

Same compact, disc-free console as above, bundled with FC 26 for instant play. Ideal for football fans who want a clean setup and a quick start. The optional disc drive can still be added later if you change your mind.
Storage: 825GB SSD, same considerations as the standalone Slim Digital.
Why this bundle: If you're already planning on grabbing the latest title from the ever-popular FC franchise, you can save a bit by going down this route.
PS5 Slim Disc Edition (1TB) + EA Sports FC 26

If you still buy physical games, borrow from friends, or keep a shelf of favourites (including those from your PS4), the disc-equipped Slim is the practical pick. The storage on offer steps up to 1TB, which gives a little more breathing room for day-to-day installs.
Why the disc drive matters: You can play second-hand titles, lend and trade games, and watch Blu-ray movies. Handy in households where not everyone wants to go fully digital. The PlayStation 5 is a great multimedia device, and the disc drive makes it all the more versatile.
Storage nudge: That 1TB is a subtle but helpful bump over 825GB. It won’t eliminate the need to clean up occasionally, but it delays it, and could allow you to keep 1 or 2 more big games on the roster at any given time.
PS5 Pro (2TB) + EA Sports FC 26

The PS5 Pro is about performance first, with storage as the bonus. Beyond the roomy 2TB SSD, the Pro introduces enhanced hardware that improves how supported games look and feel.
What's changed with the Pro (in supported titles):
Higher and more stable frame-rate modes: Action feels smoother and inputs are more responsive, especially on 120Hz TVs.
Sharper presentation: Games can target higher resolutions and show more consistent ray-traced lighting and reflections for a cleaner, more detailed image.
Future-ready headroom: Built to better handle upcoming AAA releases and demanding visual modes without constant compromise.
Like the Slim Digital Edition, the Pro is digital-only, but you can add the optional disc drive if you want physical media down the line.
Who it suits: Players who value smoother visuals and graphics quality, streamers, competitive gamers, families with multiple profiles, and anyone upgrading from an early PS5 who wants a noticeable leap.
How to Choose
Start with how you buy and play:
You buy all games digitally: Slim Digital 825GB standalone, or Slim Digital 825GB with FC 26 if you want match day out of the box.
You still like physical media: Slim Disc 1TB with FC 26.
You want the best performance, and more space with the least hassle: Pro 2TB with FC 26.
If you’re buying as a gift and you’re unsure how the person plays, the Slim Disc 1TB bundle is a safe middle ground: it works with both discs and digital, and the extra storage is welcome. If you're able to fork out a bit more though, you can really wow your gift recipient with the Pro. If they prefer physical discs, they can always add a disc drive later.
How Much Storage Do You Need
825GB: Great for a rotating library. Keep your main game plus a couple of others, and be okay with deleting something monthly. Remember, deleting a game doesn't necessarily mean losing your saved data, and getting back into the game is typically just a re-download away.
1TB: Adds breathing room. You’ll tidy less often, but really, the decision between 825GB and 1TB is less about storage and more about whether you prefer disc or digital.
2TB: The tier for anyone who doesn’t want to manage storage at all - handy for homes with two or more people playing different things. Again though, the Pro model is more about getting the best of the best in terms of performance. The extensive storage on offer is just a really cool bonus.
If you start with 825GB or 1TB, or even 2TB, and later want more, PS5 supports adding a compatible SSD. You don’t have to decide everything up front.
Important Considerations
TV pairing: If you own a 120Hz or recent 4K HDR TV, the Pro’s enhanced modes are easier to appreciate.
Disc households: If you own PS4 discs you want to replay where supported, or you like Blu-ray movies, choose the Slim Disc bundle from the start.
Extra controller: If you plan on couch co-op, be sure to add a second DualSense.
Upgrading From a PS4?
Digital purchases carry over on your account, so if you’ve been buying from the PlayStation Store, your library is ready to download.
Cloud saves with PS Plus make swapping consoles painless - sign in, sync, and continue playing.
We've mentioned this above, but one can never be too careful. Don't forget that your old PS4 discs (where supported) will need a PS5 with a disc drive.
Play Starts Here
All four options make sense. It’s really about how you prefer to play and how much you value smoother visuals. If you want clean and simple, go Slim Digital. If you want flexibility, go Slim Disc. If you want breathing room and a performance lift, go for the Pro 2TB. If you're a football fan, FC 26 bundles are an easy win when you want something fun to play the moment it’s set up.
