The Logitech G515 Rapid TKL is a low-profile gaming keyboard that packs advanced “gaming” technology into an incredibly slim frame.
Logitech has taken the same Hall-effect magnetic switches that power more enthusiast keyboards and fitted it into a form that’s just 22mm high.
The result is a compact, durable keyboard that delivers high-speed performance without the bulk.

Price & Competition
The Logitech G515 Rapid TKL costs $353. That puts it in competition with the $379 Razer BlackWidow v4 TKL, the $338 Corsair K70 Pro TKL and the $389 Steelseties Apex 9 TKL.
This pricing is great, considering the G515’s premium build, Hall effect switch technology, and slim, low-profile design. The only catch is that it’s wired-only, with no wireless or Bluetooth modes. But that’s intentional, a wired connection ensures zero latency and rock-solid reliability for competitive play.
Design
The design of the G515 is where it immediately stands out. At just 22 mm high, it’s one of the thinnest gaming keyboards on the market. It’s sturdy thanks to its stainless-steel top plate, which completely eliminates flex and it boasts double-shot PBT keycaps which offer a lightly textured feel and resist shine and fading over time.
The tenkeyless (TKL) design means there’s no numpad here. For gamers it's great, it means the overall footprint is nice and compact, leaving plenty of room for mouse movement. However, if you rely on a number pad for productivity this might not be the keyboard for you.
Up top, the keyboard keeps things pretty basic, there’s a Game Mode button and a small LED indicator and that’s it. It’s a clean and simple look, however a few dedicated media controls or a volume roller would’ve been a welcome addition.
Lighting is controlled via Logitech’s LIGHTSYNC RGB system, offering per-key colour customisation through Logitech G HUB. The lighting looks bright and vibrant, though keys with larger legends, like Shift and Enter, can show slightly uneven glow. But it’s not a biggie.
Colour options are simple: black and white. For this review we were given the black version and it’s simple yet sleek.
Switches & Performance
Inside the G515 are low-profile magnetic analog switches that operate on the Hall effect. Instead of using physical contacts, they measure key position magnetically, allowing the keyboard to detect exactly how far each key has been pressed.
This unlocks advanced features like Rapid Trigger, which resets a key the instant you begin to lift your finger. The result is faster, more precise control in games, especially noticeable in competitive shooters where strafing and precision can be a gamechanger.
You also get adjustable actuation, letting you set how far each key must travel to register. This is customisable via the Logitech G Hub app and you can set the distance anywhere between 0.1 mm and 2.5 mm. This can be genuinely helpful when set up in a way that works for you. For example, you can make your movement keys ultra-responsive, while keeping ability or reload keys more deliberate to avoid accidental presses.
Another standout feature these switches allow is Multipoint Action, which lets a single key perform two different commands depending on how far you press it. For example, a light press might make your character crouch, while a full press makes them go prone. I struggled to find a use for this with the games I play, but it may come in handy for games with a lot of keybinds.
As mentioned all of this is controlled through Logitech G HUB, which lets you customise every key’s behaviour, lighting, and actuation. Once you’ve set it up, the profile can be saved directly to the keyboard’s on-board memory which means it stays with you if you change PCs.
Typing Feel
It’s important to know that this keyboard is designed with gaming in mind. When it comes to everyday typing, it feels different from traditional mechanical keyboards. The short travel distance and linear switches give it a smooth, soft feel, like a high-end laptop keyboard than a deep, clicky mechanical one. You’ll either love this or hate it. For me, I prefer a bit more clunk when I’m typing.
It’s quiet and comfortable to use but if you prefer a firmer, tactile response may find it a bit too soft.
Software & Customisation
Logitech’s G HUB software remains one of the most feature-rich control systems around. Through it, you can fine-tune actuation depth, adjust Rapid Trigger sensitivity, and assign macros or custom lighting to each key.
The software can occasionally feel complex for new users, but once set up, it provides enormous control over the keyboard’s behaviour.
Verdict
The Logitech G515 Rapid TKL is a great addition to Logitech’s gaming keyboard lineup. It combines the comfort and style of a low-profile board with the responsiveness of magnetic Hall-effect switches, creating a product that feels both refined and performance-driven.
While the lack of wireless options or dedicated media controls might leave some users wanting more, its sturdy build, rapid response, and high-quality materials make it a strong option for gamers who value performance.
For anyone looking for a premium, minimalist keyboard that delivers genuine competitive speed without the bulk, the G515 Rapid TKL is a strong contender and one of the most well-rounded choices in its price range.
