Well-known audio brand JBL has just released a new line of earbuds, and we think they’re definitely worth checking out. The ‘Live 3’ range of premium true wireless noise cancelling earphones comes in three styles: Bud, Beam & Flex, to fit different ear shapes.

With a range of premium features, impeccable audio quality courtesy of JBL Signature Sound, and even a touchscreen carrying case, the JBL Live 3 series has a lot to offer.

The Live 3 range is available right now at PB Tech and you can choose between black or silver. The ‘Buds’ is a dot style, the ‘Beam’ is a stick style, and the ‘Flex’ is an open-stick style.

So, what makes the JBL Live 3 series a good choice?

Signature Sound

All three options bring JBL Signature Sound to the table, or to your ear should we say. Signature Sound is typically found in JBL’s higher-end products, and these premium earphones are no exception. Enjoy powerful and realistic audio quality which encompasses deep bass, balanced mid-range and detailed high frequencies. JBL promises that Signature Sound is the same audio quality experienced at live music events all around the world, for more than 70 years. In the Live 3’s, Signature Sound is brought to you via 10mm or 12mm dynamic drivers which are tuned flawlessly for your listening pleasure.

(The Buds and Beam have 10mm drivers, while the Flex’s drivers are 12mm).

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)

Noise cancellation on the Live 3 isn’t just active, it’s also adaptive. This enables you to tune in and out of the world around you, as you go. Switch seamlessly between total noise cancellation and total immersion or create your sweet spot somewhere in the middle, with the ability to customise your ANC experience. Gone are the days of taking one earbud out to hear someone or something. With adaptive ANC, you can be fully immersed in your beats one second and totally in tune with your environment the next.

Battery Life

One of the biggest things to consider when going for wireless earphones is the battery life. High-quality sound is all good and well, but if you haven’t got enough juice to last you all day, you’re not going to be very happy. The Live 3 Buds and Flex come with 10 hours of playtime, while the Beam has 12, and with the charging case that comes with all three, you can get up to an additional 40 hours, although keep in mind this is with ANC off. Either way, considering the competitive price of these things, the battery life is great and ensures you can enjoy high-quality playback all day long. In keeping with the whole wireless theme, you can even charge the Live 3’s wirelessly. If you do happen to be using USB-C though, just 10 minutes of charging will get you an additional 4 hours of playback.

Microphones

Unlike battery life, something that can be overlooked on wireless earbuds that sit all the way up in your ears and far away from your mouth, are the microphones. Premium earphones should deliver in more ways than one and with six beamforming microphones that help to reduce wind and noise interference, you can be assured the JBL Live 3’s bring you high-quality on both ends of your call.

Smart-charging Case

A carrying case that doubles as a remote control, allowing you to manage every aspect of your listening experience from the 1.45-inch touchscreen display on the case itself, without having to access the JBL app on another device. These stylish carry cases also pack a punch, providing up to an additional 40 hours of battery life to the 10-12 hours already offered by the earphones themselves.

(The Live Flex 3 has 40 hours of additional capacity in the charging case, the Live Beam 3 has 36 and the Live Buds 3 has 30 hours).

Multi-point Connectivity

A cool feature with a lot of premium wireless earphones nowadays is multi-point pairing meaning you can connect to multiple devices at the same time and switch between them seamlessly. This is a great feature for busy individuals who may be using more than one device - simply connect to both when you start up your earphones and you can switch between them throughout the day.

IP55/IP54 Waterproof and Dustproof

Why go for wireless and portable earphones when you can’t go wherever you want? With the durability of the Live 3 range, throw dust and water-related caution to the wind and live your best life with the JBL Live 3s right there with you.

(The Live Buds 3 and the Live Beam 3 are IP55-rated waterproof and dustproof while the Live Flex 3 is IP54-rated waterproof).

Full Control

The free JBL Headphones app gives you the power you need to listen the way you want. Chop and change everything from personal listening profiles for tailored audio to adjusting ANC based on your ears’ shape and much, much more. In particular, ‘Personi-Fi 3.0’ uses precise information about you to provide you with the sound curve that suits your listening preferences best. A set of earphones with this many features needs the ability to manage them effortlessly, and the JBL Headphones app does just that.

JBL Fit Checker

If all the above features sound enticing, the only thing left to decide is which form factor your precious ears need! JBL has you covered with their new Fit Checker, which will scan your ear and ask you a few things before guiding you towards the earphones that will suit your needs best. Once you’ve done that, all that’s left is to choose between Black and Silver!

Go check out JBL Fit Checker now and see which set of JBL Live 3 earbuds will accompany you as you dive into JBL’s world of premium audio quality.
