Roborock is quickly becoming one of the top robot vacuum cleaner brands, and continues to impress us as it’s range of powerful and smart vacuum cleaners expands. The latest variations to hit the market in NZ are the Roborock S6 Pure and the Roborock S6 MaxV.

The Roborock S6 Pure

The Roborock S6 Pure - although newer - is lower in the line-up than the Roborock S6, and sacrifices some features to achieve a lower price point. Most of the specs match including the 5,200mAh battery, 150 minutes of run time, and 200 square metre coverage area. The S6 however, has a broad sensor network, a larger dust bin, and advanced noise control for a quieter clean. The S6 Pure on the other hand, has a larger water tank capacity, ideal for mopping large areas or homes.

The Roborock S6 Pure performs pretty on par with the S6, albeit with slightly different features and specs. The best choice of the two really comes down to the user to weigh up the differences and determine which offers the best value for their needs.

Also new, and at the top of the line-up on the Roborock range is the Roborock S6 MaxV. It’s the company’s most powerful vacuum yet with 2,500Pa of suction. That’s 25% more suction than the Roborock S6, providing the grunt to better capture fine dust from floors and reach deeper into carpets. The higher-end price tag is further backed with a larger coverage area (240sqm); a longer-lasting battery on a single charge (180 minutes); a quieter clean (67dB); and more advanced features, such as twin cameras for advanced obstacle recognition, as well as ReactiveAI obstacle avoidance.

ReactiveAI obstacle avoidance is powered by a Qualcomm® APQ8053 processor chip (which performs 50% better than the one found in the S6). It’s been trained on tens of thousands of real-world images, so it can recognize and steer clear from common household items that trip up other robot vacuums, including stray shoes, pedestals, cables, and more. Even pet waste - every pet and smart vacuum owner’s worst nightmare! The MaxV’s twin cameras are also equipped with infrared imaging, so it can see in the dark. These features combined with Roborock’s renowned PreciSense LiDAR navigation system, provide consistently fast and efficient home navigation, day or night. It’s not called a smart vacuum for nothing!

The MaxV is the most expensive in the line-up, but you get what you pay for, which is essentially more of everything. More suction power, more coverage area, more run time, more processing power, more features, and more intelligence. If you simply want the best robot vacuum and you can stretch your budget for it, the Roborock S6 MaxV is the go!

Robot vacuum cleaners are one of those things that you can’t truly appreciate until you have one for yourself. The convenience they add to your life is unbeatable, and for me personally, they’re worth every penny. The Roborock S6 range offers great value and performance, and has options for every budget!
