The new Mac mini is available now, and with its compact size, incredible performance, this Mac mini is likely perfect for anyone looking to update their daily desktop PC, or home media PC, to the latest generation.

The Mac mini 2020 is a powerful desktop PC that's small enough take with you, an ideal feature for a world that has us working from home and in the office, the 19.7cm square frame is durable and sleek. Don't worry about carrying around a large external power brick too, the new Mac mini plug goes straight into the wall mains power socket.

Starting out with a quick look at connectivity, we find that even though the Mac mini is small, it still packs in a range of ports for our various PC peripherals including 2x USB Type-A, 2x Thunderbolt 3 in USB Type-C form, 1x HDMI 2.0 (4K 60FPS Ready), 1x 3.5mm Audio Out and 1x Gigabit RJ45 for hardwired networking. Wireless connectivity includes both the latest 802.11AX WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.

Typical usage will likely have us using one display via the HDMI 2.0 video output, but we can connect another display too via a TB3 port. It's important to note that while the Mac mini does include the power cable in the box, it does not include an HDMI or TB3 cable to connect your display, so you'll need to already have one, or buy one.

Hardware on the inside has changed drastically with Apple using their new Apple M1 chip, which promises to make using this mini PC a real treat. This new chip ushers in updated, fasters apps, built for M1, but existing apps still work too apparently, and that's great to here!
