Available in black or white to suit your home décor, the ZenWiFi AX system consists of a pair of ASUS AX6600 WiFi 6 routers, packed with Asus exclusive features, technologies and their superior engineering, to give us superfast, reliable and secure WiFi connections - inside and around the home.
Uniquely, the ZenWiFi XT8 kits allows us to choose how we name the WiFi networks: a single name for everything, or separate names for each frequency band. Very useful for those who want to separate their streaming or gaming connections from those used by other devices, or people.
Unlike traditional multi-device mesh WiFi systems that sacrifice half of the total wireless bandwidth to connect with each other, ZenWiFi AX features a tri-band design with a full WiFi band for the backhaul, maximizing system performance and stability. With this upgraded design, you'll experience fast and stable WiFi, even when data transfers through multiple hubs to reach your device. ZenWiFi AX allows flexible configuration of this backhaul connection too. You can set the second 5GHz band as a dedicated or non-dedicated backhaul connection, enabling maximized backhaul speed or freeing up the fastest 5GHz band for connected devices.If you have Ethernet ports in your walls, you can also set ZenWiFi AX to use Ethernet to connect with each other, reserving all three WiFi bands for your wireless devices for even more stable and reliable networking.
Setup is very easy thanks to the Asus Router APP, which is available for Android and Apple iOS. Plug them in, turn them on, name your networks and in around 3 minutes, you’re done. The app continues to offer more features too, AiProtection Pro with Advanced Parental Controls is free for life. As the master of your own network you can keep an eye on everything that's happening on your network via the mobile app, providing insight and peace of mind for parents.
The XT8 mesh kits are also compatible with Asus AiMesh technology, allowing you to use your existing AiMesh ready Asus router to further extend coverage. It’s a great feature that Asus has been supporting for a long time, allowing us to grow our networks, without always needing a full replacement of hardware - nicely done Asus!
The hardware used by Asus is, as you would expect, excellent. ZenWiFi AX features a quad-core CPU to deliver the full performance potential of WiFi 6 and power those specific features. The vertical housing design holds a special antenna and circuit board that optimizes WiFi signal strength while also providing better airflow, improving thermal performance, it’s just one of many things Asus does to make their products more reliable, suited for long team operation.
