NVIDIA have announced a new addition to our MX laptop GPUs line-up: NVIDIA GeForce MX450.

With newly added (in the MX segment) support for PCI Express 4.0 and GDDR6 graphics memory, GeForce MX 450 delivers even faster performance than their previous MX3XX for faster photo editing, video editing, and gaming.

The MX series of discrete graphics solutions are a popular choice in slim high-performance MSi Modern and Lenovo ThinkPad T14 laptops.

It also works seamlessly with NVIDIA Optimus technology to deliver the perfect balance between long battery life and performance. With Optimus technology, users can now experience the full performance benefits of a discrete GPU with the battery life of an integrated graphics solution. NVIDIA Optimus automatically, instantaneously, and seamlessly optimises the notebook to offer the best performance or best battery life depending on the application. The beauty of Optimus is that it leverages standard industry protocols and APIs to work. From relying on standard Microsoft APIs when communicating with the Intel IGP driver, to utilising the PCI-Express bus to transfer the GPU‟s output to the Intel IGP, there are no proprietary hoops to jump through. NVIDIA‟s new hardware and software design seamlessly blends into the existing frameworks.

Ultraportable laptops with GeForce MX450 will be available starting in October 2020 from leading laptop OEM partners, so we'll be keeping our eyes out for new laptops which feature the new MX450 graphics inside.
