Nvidia RTX SUPER Graphics Cards are available for order now!
Similar in many ways to the 'Ti' identifier we all know, the new SUPER models signal an increase on the performance of the RTX 2060, RTX 2070 and RTX 2080 options – with the new SUPER models identified by the names RTX 2060 SUPER, RTX 2070 SUPER and RTX 2080 SUPER (you'll also notice a lot of manufacturer codes abbreviate this to RTX2060S etc).
Before we jump into the key upgrades that make the new Nvidia Graphics Cards so SUPER, let's take a look at what Nvidia are saying about them.
NEXT-GEN SHADING: Variable Rate Shading focuses processing on areas of rich detail, boosting performance. Mesh Shaders advanced geometry processing supports way more objects per-scene, allowing more complex worlds.
RT CORES: Dedicated ray tracing hardware enables fast real-time ray tracing with physically accurate shadows, reflections, refractions, and global illumination.
TENSOR CORES: Artificial intelligence is driving the greatest technology advancement in history, and Turing is bringing it to computer graphics. Experience AI-processing horsepower that accelerates gaming performance with NVIDIA DLSS.
CONCURRENT PROCESSING: Simultaneous floating-point and integer processing enable the Turing GPUs to more efficiently process the compute-heavy workloads of modern games.
Looking at the RTX 2060 SUPER models specifically we get an additional 2GB of VRAM memory for a new total to 8GB. The new RTX 2070 SUPER now uses powerful GPU architecture from the RTX 2080 (Now Turing 104).
