The EcoVacs DEEBOT T30S Combo offers a well-rounded cleaning solution by combining powerful vacuuming and mopping features with the convenience of a handheld vacuum.

With 11,000Pa of suction power, efficient navigation and a smart auto-lift mopping system, it handles a variety of surfaces and obstacles with ease.

The docking station boasts an all-in-one design that will clean the mops, refill the robot and empty dustbins. But the real advantage here is the inclusion of the handheld vacuum. It’s ideal for reaching areas the robot can’t, like stairs, ceilings and cars. It even empties into the same docking station.

If you’re looking for a versatile, all-in-one cleaning system that takes care of your floors and those tricky spots, the T30S Combo is worth considering. It’s very good.

Robot Design

The T30S is a dual-purpose robot vacuum. It can vacuum your house and mop hard floors simultaneously.

The overall design is familiar, it looks like any other robot vacuum. It has a rotating anti-tangle brush underneath, two mop pads at the back and two large wheels to allow it to navigate difficult areas.

The mops use EcoVac’s Auto-lift Mopping System which lifts the mops when carpet is detected. They can rise 9mm and will come back down when hard flooring is detected. This works well. I never had any issues with the robot vacuum mopping my carpet or missing spots on my hardwood floor.

It has a circular shape, as opposed to the square shape of the X2 Omni. This can be an issue for vacuuming as it struggles to track edges. However, for mopping, the T30S supports what EcoVacs calls TrueEdge capabilities. This allows the mops to extend out from underneath the robot, meaning it will never be further than 1mm away from your walls. Basically it allows it to mop 99.99% of your area, even as a circular robot vacuum, which is great.

Frustratingly, the T30S has a cap on top. This means it can struggle to get under low obstacles like the bottom of a bed. This was removed from the X2 Omni, so it’s a bit disappointing that it has made a return here.

On the front, there’s a bumper that allows for Foot Touch Control, in which you can lightly tap the bumper with your foot, while it’s in the docking station, to send it off to clean. Most of the time this worked well, but sometimes it didn’t respond to my foot meaning I had to use the app instead.

Vacuum Design

The most noticeable feature about the T30S Combo is the handheld vacuum that comes with it. This is a brilliant addition. Unfortunately, robot vacuums aren’t able to go up and down stairs, or clean cars…. yet. This is where the handheld vacuum comes in. This is much like any other handheld vacuum, it’s long, and comes with four different heads, the Crevice Tool, Dusting Brush, Mini Power Brush and the ZeroTangle Power Brush, each of them having specialised uses.

It has a one click trigger, meaning you don’t have to hold it down and it boasts high-power and low-power modes to adjust the suction power and therefore the battery usage. On the front there’s a battery gauge so you can see how much battery is left.

When compared to other handheld vacuums, it isn’t quite as easy to put together, it doesn’t have a screen showing you how much dust it's picking up and it doesn’t have a massive dust bin, but that doesn’t matter. This vacuum, at least in my house, wasn’t doing the heavy lifting, that was left to the robot. The handheld is better suited to the little jobs that the robot couldn’t do and for that it was excellent. Unfortunately, you do have to take it apart when putting it back into the docking station though. This means you have to take all the attachments off and you’ll need somewhere to put them. Fortunately, the handheld uses a clip in system so all you have to do is press a button and pull them off, not a biggie.

At 2.65 pounds (1.2 kg), it’s lightweight and easy to carry. I never had issues holding it up high or for long periods. It boasts a four-stage filtration system so no harmful bacteria or dust goes back into the room once you’ve vacuumed, and best of all, it auto empties into the docking station when you put it back. There is a catch you can open to empty it straight into a bin, but the auto-emptying is the way to go.

Docking Station

The docking station is stylish and sleek but it’s big. This is something you’ll need to consider when thinking about buying the T30S Combo.

The combination of the handheld and the robot vacuum means the docking station must accommodate both devices. The result is a box that’s quite wide measuring 44.3cm. It’s also 55.4cm high and has a depth of 52.75cm. It’s not unmanageable but it is wider than your average docking station.

This is an all-in-one docking station meaning it does almost everything without human input. It cleans the mops with hot water, it empties the robot vacuum and the handheld vacuum, it dries the mops, it charges both devices, it auto-refills the water in the robot and a lot more. It’s very good.

The only time you’ll need to interact with the station is when emptying the dirty water tank/filling up the clean water tank and emptying the dustbin. The water tanks both hold 4L, so you won’t have to empty and fill these very often, maybe once a fortnight depending on usage, and the dustbin is 3L so you’ll only have to empty that around once a month, again depending on usage.

Performance

The T30S robot vacuum boasts a massive 11,000Pa of suction power. To put that into perspective, the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra maxes out at 6,000Pa of suction. It can easily pick up dust, dirt and grime on any surface.

For mopping, it utilises EcoVacs’ Ozmo Turbo 2.0 which features rotating mop pads that scrub the floor at high speeds. This is much more effective than traditional static mopping systems which are simply dragged along behind. It works well, but don’t expect the T30S to get rid of bad stains. While it’s good for spilled drinks, for hard to remove issues you’ll probably have to rely on good old-fashioned muscle power.

Annoyingly, EcoVacs hasn’t disclosed how powerful the handheld vacuum is. While I didn’t find it was quite as good as other handheld vacuums I’ve used, it certainly gets the job done. With high-power mode engaged I could feel it suck onto my carpet and I was able to pick up notoriously difficult material like Rimu leaves.

Navigation/Setup

Setting up the EcoVacs DEEBOT T30S Combo is pretty much what you'd expect if you've used other robot vacuums.

The app is user-friendly and walks you through the Wi-Fi setup process quickly. Once connected, the TrueMapping 2.0 technology goes to work. The robot scans the room and generates a map, allowing it to navigate efficiently. From there, the robot follows a systematic cleaning path, which means you don’t have to worry about it missing spots or doubling back unnecessarily.

Using EcoVac’s TrueDetect 3D 3.0 sensors, the robot reliably steers clear of common household objects like furniture, shoes or pet bowls. Annoyingly though, it still gets tangled in cables. So, despite the advanced obstacle detection, you'll need to prepare your rooms by picking up any loose cords beforehand, which can be a bit of a hassle if you're hoping for a completely hands-off experience.

App/Features

The EcoVacs app offers a wide range of useful features, but navigating it can be a bit tricky. It gives you a lot of control over how the robot functions. One of the standout features being the continuous cleaning option, which allows the robot to pick up right where it left off if it runs out of battery mid-clean.

Another key feature is the scheduling functionality, which lets you set cleaning times in advance, so the robot can clean when you're out of the house. You can also customise cleaning preferences based on room or zone, which means the robot can be directed to focus on high-traffic areas or skip rooms altogether.

The app also offers the ability to manage maps for different floors, adjust suction power and control water flow for mopping, depending on your needs. However, while these features are robust, finding your way around the app can sometimes feel cumbersome. The sheer number of options and settings buried in different menus might take some getting used to, and it’s easy to miss some of the more advanced options without spending time exploring.

The EcoVacs app also integrates the Yiko Voice Assistant, which works well, but I didn’t find much use for it since I did most of my setup through the phone. Yiko allows you to give voice commands like "Yiko, clean the lounge" and the robot will immediately respond and head to that specific room. It’s a neat feature for quick interactions without needing to use the app, but for me, it felt unnecessary since I preferred managing everything through the app.

Additionally, the robot is compatible with Google Assistant and Alexa, though these offer more limited control compared to Yiko. With Google or Alexa, you can start and stop cleaning or send the robot back to its dock, but the more detailed commands like selecting rooms or adjusting settings aren't available.

Verdict

The EcoVacs DEEBOT T30S Combo is a powerful robot vacuum that handles both vacuuming and mopping with ease, thanks to its 11,000Pa of suction power and smart obstacle detection. It navigates efficiently, avoids most obstacles and automatically lifts its mops when detecting carpet. The large, multifunctional docking station takes care of refilling water, emptying the dustbin and cleaning the mops. But all of that is standard stuff in the robot vacuum market.

What sets the T30S apart is the included handheld vacuum. The fact that it comes with both the robot and handheld in one package is a game changer. While the robot takes care of floors, the handheld is perfect for those hard-to-reach spots like stairs, cars and ceilings. The best part? The handheld also empties into the docking station, making maintenance incredibly easy.

Overall, the T30S does everything you'd expect from a high-end robot vacuum, but the addition of the handheld makes it a truly versatile cleaning solution.
